I've never flown coach because I'm a baller.
Not really. I've actually never been on a plane at all.

It wasn't rude 30 years ago when there was room on the planes to do this. Now it is rude for simple practical reasons.
Fack the airlines for cramming the seats so close together.

No. They're fricking made to recline. I'm leaning back as soon as we get in the air.
Now it is a dick move to recline/return upright in a fast, violent manner. I've seen drinks get spilled in people's lap that way.

Not rude at all because that's what they are there for. If you're a large person and leg room is a problem then get your ticket early and request the emergency row seats.

So, "turbulence" is code for "three martini lunch"?

If it's a long flight, I recline. Be pissed at the airline, not me.
I'm always in Economy Plus or first though, so probably not an issue for whoever is behind me.

This.
It's rude to outright put the seat back, especially before take off, without looking or asking. Maybe it's a kid behind you so it's ok. Maybe they are short. But to not look back at the 6'3 person behind you. Yes, extremely rude.
Also, especially if you work on planes. Forget the laptop if someone goes all the way back.
At least ask or look back first.

Try flying first class so this isn't an issue for you.

I feel bad for doing it, but I've flown a ton my whole life and now I only go for comfort so I recline the seat, take off shoes, stake my territory on the armrests, and try to fall asleep before takeoff

The seats are made to recline. Unless you're putting it all the way back on someone's knees, or while they're trying to eat, I don't see the issue.

If I'm in coach and feeling good, I'll ask the person behind me if they mind. If I'm hungover I just do it.
