Looking into getting a higher end Suv. Before everyone starts it will be the first really nice car that me and the wife purchase so by no means am I rich. I have looked at a few but does anyone have any personal info on these vehicles:
Looking for reliability, low maintenance, and of course safe for the wife and children
BMW X3
Audi Q7
Volvo CX9
Lexus RX
Infinity QX50
Acura MDX
All Info good and bad is welcomed. Thanks

Assume you mean Volvo XC90?
Or do you mean Mazda CX-9?

You’re better off purchasing a domestic high end SUV..
Caddy, Yukon Denali or even a Premier Tahoe...
When those go out of warranty, you’ll be paying out the arse for any repairs...

G 550, if you can afford it, I wish I wouldn’t have traded mine in.

If you’re looking at a Q7, money isn’t an issue and you’re probbaly paying cash for it

Mdx probably fits your criteria they best and will probably be the cheapest as well.
The new RDX is really really nice and can be had for under 50k fully loaded

Volvo looks the best out of all of them. However, I wouldn't pay that kind of money for a 4 cylinder --- although it is the safest of the bunch.
The Q7 would be my choice, but I wouldn't be happy about the maintenance bills.
Have you looked at a Lincoln Navigator?
You may be surprised.

Infiniti qx 60 is the comparable model

X3 is smaller than the rest. X5 is more comparable.
Acura will probably be the most affordable, but not necessarily the most refined.
Volvo’s are alright. Don’t get the 22 inch rims, rides like shite.
Infiniti’s are very nice and priced aggressively.
X5 and Q7 are the nicest and most athletic of the ones you listed. Also the more expensive.
Also consider the Mercedes GLE. Not as athletic as the X5 or Q7, but more “luxurious”
The Lexus infotainment is my least favorite, so i throw it out for that reason.
I’d lean you to the Acura or Infiniti. Very good vehicles, good dealers, more affordable.

What?
Q7s aren't particularly expensive for luxury SUVs and the huge majority of people who have them are probably financing them

My bad, you are correct sir, I had no clue they were 53 grand

Thanks everyone. Much appreciated. We can def afford it. I have both current vehicle’s paid off so we are both I need of a vehicle and have a good bit to put down on it.
I just nervous bc I here horror stories about some of the vehicles. Everyone I have ever talked to said to do not ever get a Mercedes because of the BS maintenance cost from that dealer.

All of those are tiny crossovers.
Take that chit to the OTPoor sub-board.

Do your homework. Remember, you hold leverage, as long as you don't disclose that you have a trade until after you agree to the price of your new vehicle and you can remember that you can and will "walk-away."
Lastly, never give a number. Your job as the customer is to only agree to a number once they have reached it. It is the salesperson and sales manager's job to present all the numbers to you. Focus on the price of the vehicle. Don't get caught up on monthly payments or terms ---- these are all influenced by the price of the vehicle.

I hope you have kids colleges paid for, no debt, house paid off too.
If not, get a practical car and be smarter with money.

My wife has had a Mercedes since 2010 and it’s been perfect. She only drives about 10k miles a year though. So little maintenance.
I find most of the “European” brands aren’t so bad about all the horror stories anymore.
American vehicles now can be just as expensive depending on the damage. Because of all the sensors and shite they put in.
I’ve driven ford, Toyota, Ram, and Chevy. Liked them all.
