I thought mazdas safety results have been pretty bad in recent years.

Could just be when we were suv shopping.

i got one for a work car. it's pretty slick and the media sync for the iphone is outstanding.

i think i would rather have the fusion for the sake of room but the mpg can't be beat. if i go about 65 on the highway i usually get about 45 mpg.

it feels weird when i drive my f150 around after being in it for a few weeks at a time.

I will add that the acceleration is pretty good for it's size and it handles well.

I travel all up and down I35 and a lot is under construction there's a lot of sudden 2 lane highways where it was 3 when I went down there last week and zips in and out pretty well.

I had one as a rental for a month while my SUV was getting fixed.

Was a great car, very gas efficient and the sedan is nice.

Once I got an SUV there was no turning back for me though. I was happy to get the extra room back when my SUV was fixed.

So one dealer in the area is offering me this car for $12,000. I know it is not the SE model (which is nicer) and is only the base S model, but this is going to be my wife's daily driver, so we don't care about any frills/feature we won't ever use.

2014 Ford Focus S Sedan - $12K

I don't know what is the invoice price is of this car but $12,000 seems like a good price for a new car in 2014. BTW, how do I find out the invoice price for a new car? Is there a website that lists that?

The S model doesn't look to have cruise control, and that would be a deal breaker to me.

Spend a little extra and get the fusion - way better car.

Haha! The Focus is much faster, handles better, and gets better mileage.

So can someone tell me if this is a good deal or not:

2014 Ford Focus S sedan - $12K

I can drive out of the dealership for $14,100 (incl tax, title etc).

I can get a family of four packed to the brim for Christmas with presents and a week worth of luggage. But yes the fusion has more room.

But it's not like it's a mini or fiat.
