I've felt for a long time that as a society we're moving away from science and fact-based decision making to more of a, "I feel this..." or "I feel that...", with people making decisions based on how they "feel" about things, rather than making decisions based on facts.

Why do you feel the way you do? Do you distrust the messengers? Why? Why are conspiracies more accepted now by larger sections of the public than before? Social media?

It's interesting because you see it on both sides of the political spectrum. The right tends to hold on to more conspiracy based theories and ideas these days, deep state, out to get them, etc., while the left invents 18 new genders and embraces those who "feel" like they're not who they really are, etc.

Thoughts?

Because "science" doesn't mean facts any more.

There is so much information out there that you can pretty much find a reasonable argument for or against anything.

For every "Scientist A says ABC is fact" there is another "Scientist" that says XYZ is fact.

Having all the information in the world at our fingertips is both a blessing and a curse.

As far as distrusting government, I'm not sure how anyone can ask that question with a straight face.

There’s a reason Louisiana is 50th in everything and this board has proven why over the past couple weeks. And those idiots can’t just blame everything on the blacks.

... I started to answer your question but realized I'd have to type a 10 page report to say everything I wanted to say.

And no one's gonna read all that or give a shite so...

And in short, they should be questioned at the very least.

Corruption because of money from the powers that be is so prevalent nowadays that everyone and everything should be questioned.

It's not that I think these scientists are bad scientists in the sense that they aren't capable.

It's that they may have agendas that don't align with merely achieving good science for whatever reason.

If your dumb arse can’t see the relationship between the COVID spread in Louisiana and the dumb fricks on this board (99% white) denying the severity of the pandemic and spreading RW nonsense since the very beginning, then I’ll never remove the white hood over your eyes.
