breaks my heart to hear her say that she's not smart and can't do math at 8 years old, every inch of encouragement is met with self doubt.

8 years old,

I was prescribed meds at an early age as well, but got off of it in middle school. I think giving kids legal speed at 8 years old seriously messes with their heads. * years old is way too damn early to give kids a pill to stop being a kid.

Just because they cant concentrate in school at 8 does not mean they have a problem with focusing. It means they are a freaking kid.

Will lead to anxiety and other stress related issue later in life.

Serious question, How is medication the answer to a child being bad at math?

Tudor isn't the answer?

Are you always this big of an a-hole?

I should be asking you what traumatic event caused you to hate yourself so much?

Ugly wife? Low income? Bastard children? Inverted penis?

and to some kids, numbers intimidate the shite out of them. if they're able to focus and zone in on it, maybe they're able to grasp concepts better?

possibility for sure...I had trouble with math when I was young and used a tutor throughout middle and high school. I didn't use addy until college to cram for an exam. Those drugs are going to have serious negative effects on people in the future, I almost guarantee it. Its basically legal speed.

This is such an awful lesson that only serves to reinforce the fricked up pill culture we have. Oh you don't like doing math Timmy, take this pill you'll learn to love it. This crap is so over prescribed and treats symptoms rather than root causes. Focus is a learned ability and an important one at that

from what i know, it will be a controlled and reduced dosage, much less than what an adult would be taking, obviously.

Regardless of dosage for a kid of that age, giving them legal speed/meth will mess with their head. They are not fully developed (this is all my opinion not science fact) and the introduction of that drug causes issues.....just my opinion and my personal experience with it at a young age.
