I've watched a couple youtube videos of people video taping public buildings or taping DWI check points just to antagonize the cops or security. I"m not one to want to just give away my rights but why on earth would anyone want to purposely go and antagonize cops etc? What purpose are they trying to prove? They seems to already know a certain statute just to prove some obscure point. It often ends up with them just wanting push the cops to do something wrong. I don't know how the cops end up holding their cool while idiots just keep pushing them. I could not be a cop in those situations. I've also seen times when the cops were wrong but they were being pushed by citizens just trying to be a jerk. Tell me why would people do this stupid stuff?

2 sides to every story and no such thing as over documentation. Especially when it concerns a persons freedom/life.

I understand we have the freedom to do so, but don't you see this as a jerk move to ride up to a Dept of Homeland check point for illegals and completely act like a jerk just to aggravate the cops? Just show your ID and you're golden and ready to ride to your destination. What point are these people making? Do they just want to prove they can be an arse to police?

Seriously, they are not recording cops just bc they are being recorded. Don't they seem to be acting like jerk. How would you respond if you were the cops just asking for ID and they are refusing everything? The driver maybe just did something illegal and they cop stopped them, and maybe just checking out the ID and gonna let them go. Acting like a jerk at this time could backfire.

I"m talking about any of the videos that I watched. DWI, Homeland Security, general walking into a random Fed building and taping on purpose just to get a reaction from the police. What I'm talking about is when they tape just to try and get a reaction from police etc.

You do realize you've already given up your constitutional right against unreasonable search and seizures with this attitude, right?

Actually you probably don't, sheep.

It's never a bad idea for the watched to watch those in positions of power. if nothing more than to keep them honest in some way. Americans have given way too much power over "authorities" to their detriment.

First of all, I don't drink/smoke/etc and drive so I never have a problem being asked to show my license. Secondly I have very little to hide from any officer, except speeding. Should I refuse to show my license knowing I just got clocked at 80 in 70?

I have no issue with it. Here's why. At any given time, we can't break laws according to... law officers. Those videos show countless infractions of impropriety whether you admit it to yourself or not. So... if we can't plead ignorance of the law, neither can they. That old argument of "if you have nothing to hide" takes on a new meaning. And they hate it. Photography and video of public servants isn't a crime. Keeping them in check is just reversing the whip and we should all be in favor of it.

That police should know and follow the rules even with people they don’t like?
