Breaking the law is different from a cop thinking you might be breaking the law, dumbass.

Your rights end when you fail to assert them.

Sounds like you think thats someone elses responsibility.

How would you respond if you were the cops just asking for ID and they are refusing everything?

If my state law doesnt mandate they show without reasonable suspicion I let them on their merry way. What's hard about that?

Well, that and they make LOTS of money with those videos on YouTube. Unless their channels get demonetized, they are in it for the money mostly.

The police and court system always win in the end and most of these auditors get buried under legal fees to fight charges that police know are bogus for the most part.

If posters on the OT figured out that these guys just want a reaction, don’t you think the police know that too? Why do anything but smile and wave? There’s a certain level of narcissism to think that your podunk police station is being targeted. You aren’t that special and no one is exempt from having their feelings hurt b

Not corruption. Lots of PDs in these videos claim that they are afraid that they are being surveilled for a terrorist attack.

Sorry that I wasn’t more clear.

I find a lot of those people annoying on a personal level but at the same time I'm glad there are people that take the time to actively assert our rights. If those rights aren't regularly asserted, do we even really have them?

What they usually script is " I don't know who you are or what you're doing... and IN TODAY'S WORLD"

That blank check BS verbal judo to pry info out of thin air has in large part given a middle finger to 4A. And on tape, it's hard to dispute. Like you I'm glad someone has the stones to "educate" officers on it.

Last week, I observed a police officer break several traffic laws and endanger the driving public. I let him know I disapproved by honking and he pulled me over for excessive use of the horn. HA HA! I told him that he was a loose cannon and drove like a maniac. He let me off with a warning. I got my phone out to record his sergeant’s name and phone number (the policeman volunteered it) and it was like Holy water to a vampire. The officer bailed when I started recording.

Seemed like a nice guy but he was butthurt that a speeder gave him the slip and was taking it out on me.

I think that's more of a grandiose claim than an average American citizen wanting to defend their Constitutional rights, don't you?

I have no issue with it. Here's why. At any given time, we can't break laws according to... law officers. Those videos show countless infractions of impropriety whether you admit it to yourself or not. So... if we can't plead ignorance of the law, neither can they. That old argument of "if you have nothing to hide" takes on a new meaning. And they hate it. Photography and video of public servants isn't a crime. Keeping them in check is just reversing the whip and we should all be in favor of it.

I understand what you are saying but these people are being a butthole while doing their taping. They seem to reek "let me be pushy and non compliant" while they are taping. I just don't think what they are doing is serving the point of what people are posting here. Seems like 2 diff things.

I see the po po’s break traffic laws on the daily almost. It’s unreal how crazy they drive and pretty fricked up also. Saw one officer playing a game on his laptop in his car in very light traffic the other day, maybe going 30 mph or so and he damn near rear ended the car in front of him. Just shook my head. It doesn’t help that any fricking retard with a high school diploma can be a cop. Instant power trip for them.

What if you were a police officer and you are doing a simple stop (whether check point or routine stop from speeding) and some jerk just starts trying to push every button you have? You simply want to run the name and license number for outstanding warrants and all this person wants to do is record and refuse all your basic requests or questions. You're probably going to just warn them. I'm wondering how would you handle it?

The horror

Dude, even waitresses have an understanding assholes exist and when they're assholes you can't just kick the chair out from under them. Grow up.
