Well I got one at 18 that I plan on covering with a bigger back piece but it's a frat tat so, yeah, it's fairly obvious how I chose that one. The other two are different, one is both of my kids birthdays, again pretty obvious. The other is a quote, something that I felt captured my personality really well and would remind me to laugh.

I have 8 fairly large pieces of many different styles. Portraits, Japanese, flowers, etc. Mostly family related. I am an artist myself, so I just draw my ideas and take them to the tattoo artist so he/she knows what I'm thinking. They also put their own ideas in as well. They key thing is to look at many different artists to find the right one for you. If you want it done well, you are going to have to pay a lot and may also have to travel. So keep that in mind.

Why? There are ways to express yourself that aren't quite as permanent.

It's high up on my arm, basically the shoulder, so it's not visible unless I'm sleeveless.

This I got LSU Fleur de lis.

As I have to explain to everyone here in Virginia. Saints Logo with the LSU eye of tiger in the middle.

I really don't like the way my appendix scar looks, I'm thinking of blacking it in with some sutures across it.

great artists charge up to $250/hr

something like that, that's not that serious would probably only take an hour, so around $100

Got my first one when I was 15. It was a scorpion and had no further meaning than I liked it.

Second Tattoo was a red rose to honor my dead mother.

Third Tattoo was a dragon to honor a brother.

Fourth tattoo was a Chinese symbol to also honor a brother.

fifth, Sixth, & seventh Tattoos honored the year I was marred as well as the year each of my kids were born

Eighth tattoo was another for my brothers.

Ninth tattoo was to remember my army days as a tanker.

Walked in a couple nights after turning 21 and just picked one out. The guy altered it a little to fit but not much. Often forget I even have one.

So who's the best in the Baton Rouge area? I heard good things about Dody in Prairieville.

Any suggestions???
