My guess is that percentage would have likely been 80-85% knowing where Nam was on a map...possibly higher. Maybe a little less due to the grouping of small countries in the area.

Ironic the very first post in this thread is a Millenial blaming boomers.
I've said it again and again on here. There's not a dime's worth of difference between those two generations.

I'd be surprised if much more than 68% of any demographic got this right

Oh shite, I thought you were joking. You actually believe that nonsense.
Well, I do admit that is primarily based on my personal experience with peers, watching 1000's of protestors in person and on TV, and traveling to maybe through 15 or so states during the late 60's/early 70's.
Do you think you could point out Qatar on a map (name not printed)? Can you point out Bosnia on a map? Can you name all of the current day countries that comprised the USSR?

People are more highly educated now than they ever have been
No they aren't. They may have access to more info, be more technologically advanced, and have more advanced information available, but most lack the ability to think critically and analyze it. People confuse technology and information availability with actually being knowledgeable, or educated for that matter.

Relevance to the current discussion?

That's kind of the point of what he said. It was in response to someone saying that there is a difference. Context, dude.

I wasn't mocking everyone, just you. I love living inside your head rent free.

Yes. They are. Objectively. Rates of higher education are higher now than they ever have been. It's just that the vast majority of people have ALWAYS been ignorant of things like is in the OP. You, personally, just aren't educated enough (or possibly intelligent enough) to tell the difference between biased anecdotal evidence and scientific fact.

Followed up your dumb post with an even dumber post.

Those frickers probably don't even know who Joseph Stalin is so they picked the name they were most familiar with.

Lol again, professor. You seriously believe people have always been ignorant of history? Better work on your Googling skills.

Keep 'em coming, bud. Nothing like proving how appropriate half of your user name is.
Posted on 10/25/16 at 1:04 pm to tigerinthebueche
What have you proven, other than you don't know appropriate grammar and you know how to regurgitate worn out internet sayings like "living rent free in your head"?
