How many months out the year could someone comfortably commute from downtown to LSU or vice versa via bike? 3 or 4 tops?
There's a lady in my office who lives in the garden district and commutes to our office around LSU everyday. Most days she wears dresses and simply slips a pair of biker shorts on under her dress.

College kids just want to ride it to go to downtown bars.
They don't pay taxes and don't contribute. They'll post bitching on this board and want to spend taxpayer money.
I say let them take Über or ride the bus. We don't need a tram trolley streetcar or gondola. It's stupid.

They elected to pay a fee each year to have a better mass transit experience by separating LSU's bus service from CATS. That fee has contributed to one of the best college bus systems in the country

For campus. Not to go to downtown bars.
Keep it on campus kid.

Part of that system has a "drunk bus" route on weekends that runs from tigerland to campus. The LSU system runs all through the area outside campus and even has a route to downtown already.
I don't think they have a "drunk bus" route to 3rd street though...someone correct me if I am wrong
ETA: LSU tiger Trails DOES have a night time bus route

Well, they can run a bus with the fee they pay.
If they want a $170 million tram, then they can each pay $1,750 fee or whatever it takes.
But no $170 million tram on a bus fare. Get a bus, paint it purple and gold, and there ya go!

Not trying to be an arse, but what kind of people ride these things? Are they going to be people that you want to be around? Will you be robbed during your commute?

Need to build a wall between NBR and the whites, and throw fat Gary on the bad side where he claims to belong. He can bitch up there all day, erryday because only three black people care what he has to say.

They'd never use a tram, because then the other baws would never see their Platinum Edition Ford Super Duty in the parking lot.

Right now, the only people I see waiting at the bus stops (usually its 2 or 3 people) are older people who can be assumed to be lower class or homeless looking people. I am not trying to be funny, but thats all I have ever seen... beyond campus.

The busses in BR (not around LSU) are usually 95-100% empty
