Making much of pussy.
Putting the vag on pedestal.
And turning the proposal event into something about the male.
What makes the event is the claque of onlookers, gfs judging.

We used to just go and asked the girl if she wanted to go to prom a couple of weeks in advance. That was it. You can blame the 24/7 social media and the snowflakes for making it what it has become today.
In the 80's there were no "safe spaces" to jet off to incase one girl rejected you. Guess the kids these days don't have more than one in the deck just in case the first choice doesn't work out.

Makes you wonder how many dudes get rejected even after an elaborate prom-posal

I guess the kids these days are pretty dumb. ALL girls want to go to prom. It's their event. Getting rejected is pretty low on the guys end.

It's made possible by social media and smart phones. Everyone sees what other people do, and expectations are raised. It's a horrible trend, but this phenomenon has spread elsewhere. Look at what people think they have to make for kids birthday parties because of what they saw on Pinterest.

I never got to ask a girl. The girls I went with asked me and I said yes because they were hot. But I was too much of a beta at the time to try and frick them those nights. Missed opportunity and I am sure I let them down for being a mangina myself too afraid to make a move those nights. One went on to be a dancer for the Texas Tech dance team and the other a Mavs dancer

Is it rooted in insecurity and fear? That men are so afraid to simply ask and so afraid of rejection they feel they have to put on some great show hoping that if they do so they have a smaller chance of getting rejected?
Or is it a part of the female-centric social media LOOK AT ME generation. That if the boy doesn't go all out asking the girl, it shows he actually doesn't care about the girl, and therefore the girl doesn't feel loved because all her friends got asked to prom by a guy who went all out, because she saw it on social media and they all got 300+ likes. If the guy doesn't go all out the girl cant post to her social media accounts about how this guy went through all this trouble just for her. ME ME ME ME
Maybe it's just a fun goofy thing teenagers do, and you're way over thinking it because you're a cynical asshat

You totally redeemed yourself with this social theory. I agree with almost everything in this thread and most replies

It's not enough to do something.Got to be seen doing it.And then get your ego stroked by strangers saying that they liked what you did.
