Actually they are having the opposite problem because they created a culture of one child with their one child policy and now that they’ve cancelled it everyone is used to only having one kid per family. They are going to be screwed in a decade or two when the old people outnumber the young.

Most experts tend to disagree, and their belief has always been that natural viruses are much more dangerous to mankind than what we are able to create because of the unpredictable nature of them

I kind of wish it was as deadly as first thought just so that the meltdown by the media and sheep would be justified. This virus is a joke to normal individuals. OPEN THE WORLD BACK UP NOW.

Go find quotes about Covid 19 from the guy who identified the HIV virus.

70+% of cases show symptoms within 5 days of exposure. Where does this notion of a long incubation period come from?
That's not correct. 50% show symptoms within 5 days.
97.5% show symptoms within 11 days.

The only thing that’s really changed from the early days of the outbreak is how much more contagious than expected it is.
OMFG you're dumb.

I’ve read/heard on the news that it can be up to 10 days or more.
There’s so much speculation/disinformation out there that it’s confusing.
The incubation period part is not confusing.
Half the infected people who are going to show symptoms will do so by day 5.
97.5% will show symptoms by day 11.
Everyone will have shown symptoms by day 14.

Doubtful.
Nature is much much better at making viruses than we are.

It isn't.
Conspiracy theories are dumb.
And the conspiracy theorists touting them are dumber.

It CAN be as many as 21.
But that’s how these things go. Not all exposures are the same. A very low dose in a healthy individual leads to a long incubation time.
Doesn’t mean it’s overall a long term.

I was out dated from an early report.
5 days is now the median, with 11 days covering 97%
There are a couple of outlier cases as far out as 21.

It doesn’t change the point though. That kind of spread is a couple of days longer than flu but it is in the normal range of ailments.
One thing I haven’t really seen much discussion on is with all of the talk about asymptomatic carriers is the data on how long after exposure does clinically relevant viral shedding occur.
A lot of people want to assume that just because you are infected you are a glowing hot corona spreader for the entirety of the incubation term.

It was stated that all of the official health organizations said it was more lethal at the start compared to now.
The initial estimate from WHO was 2%, now it’s 3.4
That’s their assessment and definition, not mine, and why I phrased the original comment as such. The semantics are important because they don’t even try to do the epidemiological estimates (including approximation of mild, stay at home cases) in an official report until after the book is closed. The final flu numbers from 2 years ago are still pending.
Jan discussion of 2%
Up to 3.4 by March

Still clinging to that, huh? Are all these antibody tests coming out just wrong? Anyone who is paying attention knows that the real death rate is much, much lower than what was initially thought. Hell, it now seems clear that the vast majority of people that get this never even knew they had it.
