quote:
Christmas has nothing to do with Jesus, the idea of Christmas was first invented by Roman Pagans with the festival of Saturnalia (worship of the God Saturn) which Christians later stole the idea from to create Christmas and to appeal to Pagans.
Wrong.
The festival of Saturnalia was celebrated on December 17 and would later extend out to December 23. Christmas is celebrated on December 25. Therefore, the dates don't match up. If Christians were trying to steal the idea and appeal to pagans, why not celebrate Christmas on December 17?
As early as the second century, we have Christian writings telling us that Christ's birth was celebrated by Christians on December 25.

Because it isn’t just stealing from Saturnalia, there were many winter solstice holidays before Christmas and there will probably be many long after it. Get over it, we rob from previous culture to make new shite.
