How are kids this dumb?
Prom-posals are stupid...I suppose it’s the product of a ‘look at me and let me post this on instagram’ society. With that said, I can’t imagine someone being dumb enough to not think this would backfire.

It's not even original. This happened last year too, and there was a story earlier this week about one like this in Ohio.

seems unlikely to me that a high school kid from Texas in 2019 would associate black people with cotton picking, but I could be wrong

I picked cotton one summer before I was old enough to get a ‘real’ job. It was the most brutal shite I’ve ever done. The heat was ridiculous...worked on a farm in Taft, TX. No shade, drinking water straight out of tanks. A life lesson indeed.
With that said, this was stupid. I hate PC, but this was unnecessary. It’s sad that with the internet in the palm of his hand, he couldn’t come up with something more creative.

My dad told us how glad they were when they’d picked enough to have a bale to sell and my grandfather would come back with “hard candy” when he went sell it.

We wore gloves as much as we could. That shite will dry your hands out, cut em up, etc. I went through a bottle of cornhuskers lotion within the week.
