You've got to run your house like you do your job. Tell your wife what you want. she's your helper.

That must be a Northern issue. I've literally never heard a woman in my life utter these words.

they might not use the word "slavery", but you can bet your sweet arse that every woman that has been exposed to modern feminism in the west has made this comparison. the degree to which they own or reject it is obviously up to the individual.

sounds like the classic aggie, get a college ring and get engaged

you're not wrong in that that is a bit of a classic aggie move. however, it is far from the case in my marriage.

There's a strong ethos among many women that traditionally female tasks like cooking are a form of slavery. That type of misplaced anger isn't easy to fix.

You’re right but I don’t think that’s the case most of the time

These days, the women that stay at home are all glued to their newest favorite addiction, their cell phones and social media. They’ll sit there all damn day on the couch watching Netflix and flicking through Facebook and don’t even realize how fast time flies by. They won’t even get up and cook for themselves, they’ll either order takeout/delivery, or reheat leftovers… by the time the kids get back from school it’s too late for them to start dinner so they just say frick it, fend for yourselves

I don't know any women who do this. I think you're doing something wrong.

Again, because you are unhappy and your wife does this does not mean you can bet your sweet arse that "every woman" does.

It's just something to say to make yourself feel better and/or think you can't do any better. It's not true, you are wrong. Not every woman does that, and if yours does, you can find a woman that does not.

The biggest mistake I made getting married was not take into account how big of a count my future MIL was. A womans mother is the biggest indicator of who she really is.

This saying is false. Needs to be modified to also look at her father. Laziness is hereditary and learned.

That’s why you need to be careful who you marry.

I don’t expect that from my wife, but she works equally as hard, arguably harder than me.

No woman is worth that kind of attitude. I know I’m still new to marriage, but I think of it as a partnership.
