This outside dining change seems like picking winners or losers again...

How much difference does eating at spaced tables outside make from eating at spaced tables inside?
Blue Oak BBQ wins. The Joint and Moes BBQ lose. Can Commanders open their patio with a take out window? It just seems like a bizarre accomodation.
I notice the Governor's buddy was quick to announce the Magazine location of Dat Dog was to reopen ASAP.

Who is going to want to go to a restaurant, get their meal, but no table side service?

It was just a bone tossed out because they were finished screwing us. The doctors and bureaucrats have no clue how restaurants work.

It’s not new. There was never a rule saying you couldn’t sit out on the street or at an outdoor table before. It was just some bullshite sugar that JBE came up with to sprinkle on the shite sandwich he gave us yesterday.

If we dip our toes in with the 25% occupancy rule it will probably keep a lot of good places closed. I cannot see places like Gautreaus, Clancys, Brigstens and others able torun on a quarter occupancy.

A lot of places have blown through their reserves. It will not be enough. My rent at $15k plus payroll and insurance is a bitch. Long term that people have not thought of is reduced quality and atmosphere. Corner cutting will happen with food and building upkeep

I really can't understand why the dumbfricks in the gov. can't understand this. The spring festival season down here in Nola is huge for the restaurants and bars. It helps them be able to float things through the summer.
Some places are set up to where this can work for them, but most aren't and this BS is damn near a worthless move.
Others have mentioned Blue Oak. I will go there soon. I hope Bayou Beer Garden will be opening. There set up was already based on picking up your own food and sitting outside. I just hope many of these businesses that are going to be able to get customers are allowed some flexibility and can get creative with the 25% thing.

This just seems like a bar loophole.
If a bar sells food, then you can sit outside and drink with people but act like you’re eating.
