It is so frustrating how hard it is to get insurance to cover patients' suboxone. I agree it is a lifesaver for many.

I know a guy who is still on subs after 3 years bc he can't wean
It's a huge crutch but I have no problem with it as long as the person isn't using it to just get by until the next fix.
Nature of the beast
I don't even like taking tylonal PM anymore. Pharms were the waste of me.

Nancy Reagan and Co were shaming the cocaine industry and CIA was causing crack epidemics in the hoods.
All while having dinner with Big Pharma lobbyists licking their chops ready to roll out the new and improved opiates to get you far more addicted than any form of cocaine.

all the BR people that use to spend their checks on crazy expensive pills were wanting me to hook them up with dope from the city... and boom 10 years later SLa from Slidell to Houma ro BR is flooded with heroin addicts.
People have lost everything because they spent every dime they had buying pills. Street value for something like Oxy is what? Around $65 a pill. I knew the guy's wife better than I knew him, but this dude got hooked. He got to the point where he would get his prescription filled once a month, but the month supply would last him about a week so the next 3 weeks in the month he was buying off the street. If he was going through his prescription in a week. If the script was for 60 pills (twice a day) and that lasted him 1 week. He would have to buy 180 pills at street value until he was able to get his prescription filled again.. That would be over $11k a month.
That seems like a lot of money. He owned his own body shop, but there is no way he was able to fund that habit for that long... Even if that is cut in half.. $5500 a month, $66k a year.. I see why people switch to heroin.

I'm triggered by the trigglyness of that thread.
You should take off work to wrap yourself in positive thoughts and write a blog about how feelings can be hurt on internet boards.

shite, you can get it for cheaper than a pack of cigarettes. It's not a surprise there's an epidemic.

I thought the war on drugs was taking care of this?

A point (.1) was $20 and it is just one dose.

THIS. One of my patients told me all the addiction clinics in NOLA are cash only. It's so wrong.

It's amazing how they push pain killers today. Back when I was still having to visit my surgeon every couple weeks, the first thing the nurse would ask me even before checking my vitals was if I was still good on my pain pills.
And at the Coumadin clinic, I even had a nurse tell me it would help get my INR numbers in line if I started taking the same dosage of pain meds they had been giving me when I was in the hospital. It's like no matter what's wrong, the answer to your problem involves a pain pill.
BTW, with BC/BS, a one month supply of Oxycodone costs me $6.00.
