Jim Jones and the People's Temple held the original Kool-Aid party and led 909 men, women and children to their deaths.

Just think of the charisma it takes to get 900 people to kill themselves. Guy would have made a helluva football coach.

If anyone feels like ruining their day and possible their week, then check out the speech he's giving as they give people the kool-aid. The link I have shows some NSFL pictures, so I'm not going to post it. That man was a sick individual and I cannot comprehend what happened to cause all those people to kill themselves.

I had to do a book report on him in 6th grade. I believe this was the book I had to read if I remember correctly...
Looking back I have to wonder what the hell my teacher was thinking assigning a 11 yr old to read that book.

Many were outright murdered by being shot or forced to drink the kool-aid.

Teaching you not to blindly follow any individuals or groups. Showing how some people are manipulated into doing the unthinkable.

Yeah I can see how you want to teach that. I'm just not sure an 11 yr old kid is ready for what was in that book. Maybe wait until like 9th or 10th grade.

He is in a motorcycle club. Though he seems like a good guy.

I remember seeing a documentary about this years ago. The children crying were creepy.

I remember vividly watching the news as a kid. The helicopters flying over and all of those bodies on the ground. Was the origination of the term drink the koolaid.

I remember this when it happened.
It actually took a day or two for it to be reported in the U.S. because of the massacre at the airfield, when the reporters and congressman, et al. were trying to leave. The footage from the airfield was especially disturbing.
I was in fifth grade and remember thinking that this was some frickED UP shite.
