In fairness, they only need them those 2 or 3 months when tourists are there...... But it has been really hot over there recently. The heat is becoming more common so they will catch on to fans.

Yeah, Idk about the ceiling fans but up north in the US its common for buildings not to have any built in AC system at all. I lived in Indianapolis and during the summer for an extra $50 on rent they would install a window AC unit. That's all you needed and you only needed it for July and maybe June and part of August.

I was just there, and it was far warmer than I expected it to be. We were very, very happy to have chosen a place in London with A/C.

We also spent a few days in the southwest of England, where it should have felt fine with no a/c, but it was not fun.

Someday, I really hope the ceiling fan thing is given some serious consideration!

I’ve been in Italy for the past 2 weeks and have seen one truck and this was in the Tuscan country side. Most contractors roll around in these compact Mercedes vans with ladders tied to the roof. The roads in most Italian citirs can not handle any mid or full sized truck. The same in most European countries I’ve visited.

The hotel we were staying at in Rome did not turn on their AC until June. We arrived May 29th, it was miserable those first few nights.

Whiny frickers who complain about everything?

People that go to another country to experience a different culture, and then complain because the country is not like America.

American culture is not the world's culture, I was once in a bar in Cozumel watching the world soccer finals, Mexico playing Spain, some drunks from a cruise ship wandered in and started raising hell that the TVs were not on the LSU game.
