I thought until last year when I went to Key West and Ft. Lauderdale that Vanilla Ice continued on to A-1-A Detroit Avenue.

"Void where prohibited"

As a kid I always thought they meant "Voidware Prohibited" like some shite that would help you find out the scratch off or whatever contest device was void. Basically saying no cheating.

Warning! OT Political Talk Cross Over

quote:

Things you had wrong for a long time.
there will never be a black president
marrige will always be between a man and woman

here are a few i think i will be wrong about in the future

the age of consent nationally will never drop below 17
we will never go to war with Russia or china
the usa will never try to confiscate guns nationally
the dollar will never collapse
oil will always be the world's main energy source

Kenny Rogers song...

Four hungry children and a box of oatmeal.

Should be..."not a crop in the field."

when I was a kid I used to watch reruns of lost in space on TV. When I had a field trip to knoe I was so disappointed because I expected to find the actors sitting behind a desk in the TV station doing paperwork.

Eta I really wanted to meet dr Smith

I used to think most of my black schoolmates (4th/5th grade era) were related because I'd hear them say something about their "Aunt Tee". I didn't realize that is just the way they pronounced "Aunt".

That salt purges crawfish and the ones that come out with straight tails after boiling were dead when they went it. I just found out neither of these are true.... LINK

Here's one I'm still not even sure about. Ever since I saw Dumb and Dumber I assumed the blind kid's last name was 'enforcie'.

Apparently, and there have been several lengthy discussions on the M/TV board about this, it's actually Billy, in 4C (the apartment number). That had never, ever occured to me until someone mentioned it on the board. I'm still sticking to my guns though. It's enforcie dammit.
