Go to Axel's in Mendota. Get the walleye.
It's not far from MOA.
If you find yourself stuck in MOA try the sushi at Crave. It's actually decent.

I have lived up here for 25 years, a native of Baton Rouge....I agree re all the suggestions re stay away from the Somali Mall of America and be careful downtown as the liberals run Minneapolis so crime is very high and getting worse. The Museums restaurant picks are all good but realize salt is the most exotic spice to Minnesotans....do be sure to have walleye - it's just a terrific tasting fish!
Get down to see the Mississippi up close , it's still pretty clean......and if you have a car drive over to see the St Croix river -- beautiful area....
and if you can catch a performance at the Guthrie theater (world class ) AND the Brave New Workshop Comedy theatre....and tour the University of Minnesota (although the LSU campus puts it to shame)

I didn’t say it was cold. I said nobody is a pussy for not wanting to be outside. Especially if they aren’t from the north.
And 40 and sunny is different than raining on Friday followed sunny and partly cloudy.

Where do you live to say that they don’t salt their food????? Minneapolis’s restaurants are good and the food is generally well seasoned
“The crime is high downtown”
Know how I know you’re a pearl clutching surburb fig? Minneapolis is one of the safest cities in the country. It’s the first place I’ve lived where I can walk anywhere without having to even really be aware of my surroundings. Much safer than Baton Rouge which you said you’re from

they could drop their racist bull shite they'd see what i see in more diversity, better and more diverse restaurants. I love eastern african food and minneapolis has a ton of great ethiopian/somali restaurants
Minneapolis doesn’t have any good ethnic restaurants. How could they? They don’t use any spice more exotic than salt.

Ice fishing is on my bucket list.
I visited a school for football in the Twin City area. The guys that were hosting me took me ice fishing. It was 0 degrees so you didn’t need an ice chest for the beer.

Be careful downtown!!

Facts: Minneapolis Violent Crime Average Citywide, Up 69 Percent in Downtown West Over 11 Years By Conrad Zbikowski on October 11, 2019 in City of Minneapolis, Downtown, police, Safety, Trends Check out the statistics used in this article: You can research Minneapolis crime statistics on the city website and check out the collected data behind this article’s charts on Google Sheets. Crime in Minneapolis has been a hot-button issue recently, flaring up tensions over perceptions of violent crime and a policing strategy to address it. Just this morning, another headline: Business leaders call for more police in downtown Minneapolis City Council Member Lisa Goodman joined them and said she would like to hire more officers and rethink other policies to improve safety in the area. Headline from the Star Tribune from October 3, 2019. As a Downtown resident, I live in one of the highest-crime areas of the city. In the past year, (365 days) Downtown West has seen 437 violent crimes, 73 percent more than the second-highest-crime neighborhood. Much of the violent crime is concentrated in the nightclub areas of Downtown, around Hennepin Ave and 1st Ave N, south of Washington Ave.

Try some Somalian food. See how the city has become one of the most unheralded incubators for future terrorists.
