Your neighborhood just isn’t safe enough!

You should look into that.

Don’t you care about the children?!

“Handshake” deals.
Immediately going when traffic lights turn from red to green since it seems everyone runs them now.

You need to stay off the Facebook and Internet. The over saturation is messing with your head.

Um, I just did this with both my kids last weekend. Drove to the State fairgrounds and let them drive all over the dirt roads. They've driven all over the dirt roads in the Wildlife Management Areas also.

Little league and high school coaches calling players gay and women to motivate them.

When I was in HS... My freshman year. The head football coach had been there for almost 10 years and was pretty successful.

This was in the mid 90s, but the team lost a game and on that Sunday when the team went to watch film, the coach showed them a play in which the team scored on, but it was late in the game and the game was out so it was against backups. There were two players on the team who were jumping up and down, hugging on each other, on the sideline.. celebrating the TD. The HC unloaded on them "what the frick are you doing? yall act like it was a TD to put us back into the game. Yall look like a couple of figs hugging on each other".

One of the players who told that to was a pussy. He went home and told his parents what they coach said. He was upset the coach called him a fig in front of the team. His parents raise all kind of hell, went to the school board.. Had a family member who was on the school board. A few weeks later the coach was forced to resign.

The rest of the team was pissed because they all liked the coach so they started fricking with the dude who went to his parents.. And he ended up quitting the team the following week.

But looking back at it today, its funny because the issue wasn't because he said fig... It was because he called someone a fig.

But that word was thrown around all the time and it was just something you call people, you were not necessarily saying they were gay.

The first time I ever heard of someone saying the word and it being considered homophobic was when Kobe Bryant gt suspended for a few games for calling someone on the other team a "****". That was in the mid 2000s.. I remember thinking that was completely insane..

Smoking in Walmart. I definitely smoked there when it first arrived in D.S. I also seem to recall either Kmart or TG&Y having ashtrays in the store back in the day (late 1980s).

This. It just doesn’t carry the same sting anymore. I witnessed a coworker try it on a colleague in front of others. The crowd turned on the accuser real quick as if he was insecure. He basically insulted himself and lost credibility with the team.

As a spectator I just thought goddamn the world has changed pretty fricking quick.

But he was right - the other dude was a fig. For some reason he could no longer call a spade a spade.

I was 6 years old and my little sister FOUR years old when we would go roam the neighborhood on bikes and play all day long. Sometimes we would venture miles from home to hit up a certain playground or something.

No way in hell myself or anyone else is letting their four year old do that today.

We called it Kill The Man With The Football.

Early 80s. Even then they cracked down for safety reasons.

I'm talking behind the wheel on open roads. My Dad taught me to drive at 9 and let me drive to Sunday School alone at 11 so he didn't have to take me.
