you're like me, you've more than made up for it with all the stuff you've paid for, but left at the store.

I got $40 cash back one time l, got to the door and realized I forgot to get it. I went back and, of course, it was gone. Told the lady watching over the machines about it and she just said there's nothing they could do.

I wanted to tell them to watch the damn video but didn't feel like dealing with anymore dumbassery so I left and went to the bank. Lesson learned and it cost me 40 bucks.

So... while you were in the Wal Mart Self Checkout, one of their employees made it move?

Whatever floats your boat.

It’s so they can maintain the illusion of doing something about shoplifting. They’re not going to risk getting shot dealing with the kind of person who’d steal a TV, but if they harass somebody getting groceries for their kids it feels like some kind of action

Yeah, don't leave your money. Most folks already know this lesson. None of what you wrote was their fault. The "dumbassery" wasn't them.

Publix doesn't even have self checkout. That's why I shop at Publix. The closest I have ever come to a conflict with a Publix employee was trying to swat one away for wanting to take my groceries to my truck. He was very insistent.

I grocery shop at Market Street. They always bring your groceries out for you. They do it for several reasons....great service, less risk to damage to vehicles from carts left in lot and the carts are always in the store where they belong. They do not accept tips either. Just an all around great store with great customer service.

How do some people get thru life? “I got nudged!” Everybody who gets jostled - you could be entitled to compensation!

I think you could sue for that. Seriously. You have to walk out of the store before they accuse you.

So I can't be accused of stealing if I'm stuffing electronics into my jacket and pants as long as I'm in the store?

You can sue anyone for anything I suppose, but you can't be seriously suggesting that Walmart was in the wrong by protecting its assets.

Not at all suggesting that. I'm with Walmart on that. I just worked in retail the whole time I was in college and we were always taught you can't call the cops on suspected shoplifters unless they leave the store without paying. Had a guy go into our stock room once and stuffed his pants with clothes. Walked around the store all high as frick for a few minutes but we were told we couldn't do a damn thing about it until he left the store without paying.

It's really fricked up. Or at least it was. Maybe things have changed since then. I'm kinda old.

There is an old crotchety black man who "works the door" and always wants to see my receipt. I usually ignore him and walk out. A few weeks ago he yells at me to show him my receipt. It sucks being white at Walmart

Yeah the interaction with the attendant was an inconvenience, but you are probably inconveniencing yourself even more by having to drive to another grocery and repeat the same shopping process.

People shite on you for this, but it is true. I know a guy who was fired from his job at a plant for stealing company property. Security watched him on camera pulling his car to a back loading dock and loading stuff into his trunk. He returned the car to the parking lot.

A while after getting back on his job, two security guards and his supervisor came up to him and he had to go open his trunk. They found the stuff and fired him on the spot.

He sued for wrongful termination, and ultimately ended up being paid his base salary for the remaining years until he reached retirement age, just like if he worked every day, including holiday pay and sick days he didn't use. He kept his company insurance, too. He is drawing his full retirement now.

Had they let him go through the gate and stopped him, he wouldn't have had a case.

I would have just walked out, left my groceries and told her to frick off

OR

I would have grabbed 2 carts and filled those sum bitches up to max capacity, take it to the cash register and said, oops, I left my food stamps at home. Have fun restocking all of this shite
