Birmingham recently had several years of massive growth, and refurbishment throughout the downtown area, thanks in part to Mayor William Bell. He is a liberal, but I would have voted for him. His results spoke volumes.

But he "forgot the plight of the inner-city black people"(slight paraphrase), and lost his re-election to a socialist who worked for Bernie's campaign. The socialist basically only campaigned in minority areas, and I believe is going to quickly end the city's momentum.

I heard the same thing about Birmingham. Their new mayor is gonna pull a Sharon Weston Broome on the city and put an end to forward progress in the name of pandering to low income, poor blacks in the bad part of town.
