When I was in undergrad, my roommate had a GF who was pretty good looking.

She would hang out at our apartment a lot - even when he wasn't there - because our place was pretty close to campus. She'd come over in between classes and whatnot.

One day, she was sitting on our couch with her laptop. I was sitting at the table behind her, and I see her looking up stripper poles on Amazon.

Apparently, around this time, pole dancing was becoming a big exercise fad. This was completely unbeknownst to me.

So I was really torn, and didn't know if I should tell my roommate when he got home..."Umm, dude I think there's something you need to know."

Are these just tension rods? They never seem to be bolted to the floor or ceiling?

Most look like it. I wonder about lawsuits?

If you get the cheap tension rod for $89.95, this is the result. It will be about $1500 to have a certified installer install one with structural integrity. The Hilti inserts in the floor, and gusset plates in the roof are worth it in the long run.

Check with your local BBB.

I bet Sinnamin would have properly anchored those poles.
