I present the theory to you that the eyes are not the true window to the soul. Animals do not sniff each other's eyes in greeting each other. Aliens do not probe your eyes when they abduct you.

Think about it. The true and pure window to the soul is obviously the a-hole.

We are not the first advanced civilization of humanoids to occupy the planet, and have been horribly misinformed in our learning of history.

I don’t believe in black holes, and I don’t believe the gravitational pull of the moon controls the tides.

I don’t believe in most of the shite that gets shoveled to us about the goings on in the universe. Science fiction is a lucrative business for the cons who siphon off tax dollars to fuel their orgies.

Religion was invented to control the masses. If it weren't for religion the poor people would rise up and kill the wealthy.
It promotes the view that my life may suck now but it's going to be awesome later. That rich guy over there is going to be miserable in hell.
It may also be for making people feel better about their impending death as an earlier poster stated.
When a child gets sick or dies religious people always say it was for a reason. What possible reason could justify a child in complete misery and agony while dying? I don't really want to be associated with a God that makes innocent children suffer to prove a point.

There is a meme of Jesus knocking on a door. It goes like this.

Jesus:. Let me in so I can save you
Person: Save me from what
Jesus:. Save you from What I'm going to do to you if you don't let me in.

Sure. It would probably be easy to get away with milder if the only motive is just to kill someone.

Pick a random person with absolutely zero connection to you and plan it properly, it would be easy to get away with.

You’d have to be a sick frick to do it though

Religion is definitely a governing principle that doubles as a source of hope for an otherwise hopeless species. Our lives are utterly meaningless, if religious worship dulls the edge of that knife while encouraging civil behavior then I’m ok with it.

You’re too afraid to share that with someone in person?

Agreed. The victim being truly random would make it much easier.

The rest of you only exist as a bi-product of my reality and conscientious. If I die, you will all flicker out like a candle and cease to exist.

Less than 50% of murders are ever solved so Your odds are quite good.

I haven’t ever cared about remaining anonymous.

If I post something, I stand by it.

I think it was created to give people a code to follow.

Wasn't the bible written like 300-400 years after the birth of Jesus? Imagine if today someone tried to create a book that people should follow, using collections of writings from the 1700s.

Karl Marx is that you?

Though there are tons of ancient pagan religions that death was the worst thing to happen.

But you have no problem associating with the universe that allows this to happen.

Are you lying to your fiancé or to family/people outside of the relationship? I personally would never marry someone that I felt I could not be honest about my beliefs with. But I also have a very catholic mother who I would put on an act for just to appease her and get married to someone through the church.
