Just flat didnt show up. But in reality I wasn't going to deal with another day of it. We were doing things multiple times a day that OSHA would flip out over. William's Brothers can EAD

Wasn’t me, but a manager I worked with in College was told he was being fired at the end of his shift at Papa John’s. So he answered every phone call that asked for the special of the day with “my d$$k in you arse for five dollars!” Needless to say, he was asked to leave well before his shift was over.

Day 2 working at Robee’s roast beef (now Arby’s) I was 15-16ish. Stoned manager left me there alone to work the grill and everything and I didn’t know what’s up yet. We got busy and count cashier was telling me to hurry up. I told her to go frick herself and walked out, leaving a line of customers.

Two oilfield jobs. I was a roustabout for ODECO back in the late 70's. The crane operator, (Francis Hebert) was a nut. I saved a kid from being crushed by a couple or pallets of mud we were unloading and it was clearly the crane operator's fault. The next day I walked in the toolpusher's office and said I'm done. He didn't like it at all, since so many had been quitting. He told me I was blackballed from the gulf...yeah right. When they lowered me to the boat, I mooned them.
Another time I drug up on a land rig in Mississippi I had a job as a floorhand and the driller and I just did not get along. He wanted one of his baws to have the job. One day he sent to the crown of the derrick to grease the alomites. I sat up there and said frick this. I came down and went to my truck and drove away.
The next month I was back in the gulf working for a service company and my first job was on an ODECO rig with the first toolpusher...HA

Got a job at Lowes in school. Worked in outside lawn and garden. Tolerated it but it sucked. Anyway, showed up one Saturday and a few people had called in sick in near by departments. I ended up with like 3 of the department phones in my pocket and was completely overwhelmed. Operations manager didn't give a shite and wouldn't shift over help. I went to lunch that day and never went back.
Genuinely still regret that decision to this day. That's a fricked up way to leave.

I knew a guy who told them he was going for coffee, and he never went back.

Two days before Christmas, boss called me in his office and told me I was being let go for financial reasons and my position was being eliminated (no severance). He knew I was leaving the next day for Christmas vacation out of town and told me he wanted to get it done before I left vs when I got back. Six years ...
Found out three weeks later they hired a young female to take my position.
Coward stared at his desk the entire time he was letting me go.
This was the first time I really understood what it meant when people say “it doesn’t matter how long and how much money you make for someone, at the end of the day you’re just a number and they really don’t give a shite about you”.
Now I work for a competitor :)
