Would it be racist if they told this Indian voice actor to make Apu's voice sound "more Indian"?

I recall Indians being really pissed off when it happened. They weren't offended by the character, they loved him. The only people offended were liberal white women.

Funny how it's a problem that an Indian character is voiced by a white man...but it's not a problem to perpetuate the stereotype of an Indian born man running a convenience store and then completely dropping the minority from the show altogether.
Same thing as Land O Lakes removing the Native American from the land it portrays on their containers.

From what I understand, they just dropped the Uncle part, it's still Ben's rice. Uncle is something white families would let their kids call their house.... butlers.
