I do think a big change, as mentioned, is that every single thing nowadays is viewed through a political (in the generic sense) prism. You see it everywhere. People reviewing and evaluating everything through the lens of sociological grievances, full of anger and angst. A sport of emotional one-upmanship. Every background visual, every line of dialogue, in books, movies, advertising, etc., have become manipulatively conscious statements, and every consumer of such material microscopically dissects it for perceived subtexts. It's a caustic and rather Marxist-styled worldview, which has particularly settled in, during this internet age, sort of like a mental virus. It's pretty grotesque, and ultimately makes for a rather hellish cultural soup to exist in. Quite the opposite to what used to constitute the American outlook of generations past.

Have a little perspective. 1,200 people died per hour from 1939 to 1945 just in WW2 related things

Today its big news if 50 people die

The world is more connected than ever. You have more access to bloodshed than before. That’s it

Because Marxists are desperately trying to destroy tradition and anything successful.

You know what's wrong with the world today?
People done gone and put their Bibles away

They're living off the law of the jungle, not the law of the land.

AI is written by man. Judging by your concern, man will be very successful with his plausible deniability campaign.

I’m sure they thought the world was pretty blood thirsty and violent when 50 million people died during WWII not that long after millions more had died during WWI.

U could be living in a time where Ghengis Khan was riding around killing dudes and raping chics.

I see this word used as just a general term for people whose views you disagree with more and more. It almost feels like a catch-all term.

Roger is right on this one.

AI isn't written by anyone.

the code that teaches AI how to recognize patterns is written by man.

I woulda wrote a strongly worded letter to my congressmen about how the Mongols crossing the border didn't have a green card.

the only difference is they were sending their best

Yea, you’re right. There’s absolutely no asymmetrical warfare going on. It’s all just a coincidence. Or perhaps you could pick up a frickin book sometime and read about it in history. It’s so weird how the same things that happened in the early 20th century Eastern Europe and others like Mao China are rearing their ugly heads again. Same game plan, same results.

Historically, the world has always been violent. It’s just that our semi-civilized America is becoming more violent and we notice.

Not really.

The 20th century was way worse. Hell several governments that century murdered millions of their own citizens

Stalin
Mao
Pol Pot
Hitler

Nobody today does that. We see the Hamas attack as a huge deal now, but honestly in the 1900s that would be child’s play
