My point is you shouldn't dismiss scientific discovery because weathermen can't accurately predict the weather, that's fricking retarded
I dig that. And I wouldn't dismiss a weather man's prediction about tomorrow, either. MY point is, humans are not only fallible... we are really only in the first age of understanding concerning ANY of these models. We don't even have quantum computing yet.. and if we do, it's damn sure not being used widespread yet, and even THAT would be in its infancy.
IF YOU WILL NOTE, I blatantly AGREED with the thread title in my first post. The Morgan Freeman statement was just my way of saying "i don't research this subject, but i did hear some fairly convincing stuff about it on through the wormhole." i was implying i know a humble, lowly amount about it. HOWEVER...You're so sensitive, you took my global warming/cooling comment totally out of context. But that's ok, nancy boy. I'm used to your ilk over reacting and trying to belittle people (as i return fire).
I dig any of the stuff in this thread! I'm about as open minded as they come. :)
It was just a small moment where two guys (me and that auburn fan) shared a brief moment of venting... people that are hardcore leftists and believe in this global warming/cooling shite hook, line and sinker are maddening.

You used weather predictions as your tent pole argument that what we know about the universe shouldn't be taken seriously... Don't back down now. Own that bullshite.

You belittled yourself and the thread as a whole by trying to make this a political topic by spouting inaccurate analogies and bullshite. I'm not against your politics, I honestly don't give a shite. I'm against your ignorance and your confidence in that ignorance. So again

Nah.
It's the opposite.
You are a lot more reliant on those eggheads understanding the universe than the ability of Les Miles in anything
What, do you think that computer you typed on in the comfort of an air conditioned home just happened? The meds you take?

The first certainty we have of the earth dying is when our sun begins to weaken and actually expands outward, eventually consuming the earth and burning it up.
Does anyone remember the timeline for that to take place? It's in the billions of years, but I want to say it was around 8 billion(?) I'm a pretty optimistic guy but I think it's doubtful I'll be around when that happens.
I'm putting my money on nuclear Armageddon. If we somehow become civilized (highly doubtful) then an asteroid will get us before the sun does.

Um.. there's nothing to back down from?
The weather predictions comment was merely venting about fools and their religion of politics.
I definitely take what we know about the universe seriously... but it's obvious, even to scientists, we know very little as absolute fact. That's why it's called THEORETICAL physics, boss. Theoretical this and that.
I -love- that through the wormhole shite, brocephus. Which means, i put stock into what we THINK we know. I would, however, like to always remain in the camp that knows how much we have yet to learn.

As to my 2x endearing monikers... yeah, it was worth quoting. Two is too many in a small post. *cough*
