Question: If California is #19 and Texas is #38, then why is everybody in California moving to Texas?
I meant to mention this earlier, one of the big cons against CA vs TX is the affordability of housing. The places that have big crossovers in job types between TX and CA will be in the most expensive parts of CA. These are the types of areas where a starter home in CA runs around a million dollars because of the insane demand, though it has eased a little.

Ya. But then again you're one of the smug douchebags I'm referring to. Every post you make on this forum involves you looking down on other people out of some false sense of superiority.
Why do you lie?

They aren’t.

Good thing you would have plenty of options besides a shovel. If you are extra soft, you can even hire a snow removal service to plow your driveway before you even wake up.

No.
The statement was false.
In 2017, 523,131 people came to California, a tiny 1.3 percent sliver of the state’s 39 million residents. All the Texas lovers should note the Lone Star state was last year’s top source for new Californians via interstate relocation, with 40,999 making the move West.
New York was the former home of California’s second-largest source of new residents (34,278) followed by Washington (33,143); Illinois (27,117); and then a border state — Arizona at 26,907.

California props up its migration statistics with illegals. It's absolutely losing its middle class and a lot of businesses to Nevada, Oregon, Texas etc

It always cracks me up when people from Louisiana say they’d never want to live in my home state of the Minnesota. In almost every single study measuring quality of life, Minnesota ranks in the top 5 and Louisiana in the bottom 5.
One of my coworkers has a daughter that lives there. She visited them once and it snowed....
In June.
My home state is trash, but if you can’t understand why the average person who grew up in LA wants no part of that, I don’t know what to tell you.

California, Connecticut, NY and Illinois are all losing residents to other states. Strange what draconian tax and regulatory policies can do.
California continues to attract the wealthy and the very poor. It's a demographic time bomb.

To be fair, so are states like Louisiana and Mississippi but to act like middle class people are flocking to California in droves isn't accurate. They'll maintain the tech industry and Hollywood. California lost 1,800 businesses to Texas in 2018.

Texas seems low for having such a good economy and bigger cities with plenty of stuff going on.
Red state haters values are different. I’m complaining on Texas’ behalf. We’re about where we need to be by any fair measure.

What is more serious is the number of California-based companies that have left or signaled their intention to leave the state. Last year marks the first anniversary of the announcement that Carl’s Jr., a California burger icon for more than six decades, was relocating its headquarters to Nashville. It’s a symbol for what’s become a stream of businesses that have quit California. What was once an almost quiet exodus of companies now looks more like a stampede.
Among the roll call of businesses abandoning California for more hospitable business environments includes Toyota which has left Torrance and will complete the move of its U.S. headquarters to Dallas in the coming month. Also having left for Dallas is Jacobs Engineering Group, $6.3 billion firm formerly based in Pasadena that has more than 230 offices across the world, employs 60,000 and generates $12 billion in annual revenue.
Nissan North America (left for Nashville a decade before Carl’s Jr. did), Jamba Juice (traded San Francisco for Frisco, Texas), Occidental Petroleum (prefers Houston over Westwood for its headquarters), Numira Biosciences (departed Irvine for Salt Lake City) and Omnitracs, a software firm (waved goodbye to San Diego and said hello to Dallas). [/[b]b]Chevron moved 800 jobs from its Bay Area headquarters to Texas, and Waste Connections shifted more than 100 jobs to Texas from Folsom.
In addition, two dozen California companies have said they are tired of the business-bashing in Sacramento, along with the high taxes — and are now threatening to leave the state. The passing of proposition 30 in 2012 triggered $6 billion in new annual taxes pushed even more companies to abandoning the Golden State for greater opportunities in Arizona and Nevada. For example, Kubota Tractor Corp. and Kubota Credit Corp., the company’s financing arm, plan to move their headquarters from Torrance to Grapevine, Texas.quote:

So it’s probable that as many as 10,000 companies have left in recent years.

The state attracts a steady stream of college graduates, especially from the East Coast, even as many less-educated residents move to neighboring states — and to Texas — in search of a lower cost of living
I.e. the middle class.

Indeed, 63,174 people relocated from California to the nation’s second-most populous state, more than to anywhere else in the U.S. But it’s also true that no state sent more people here than the Lone Star State — 40,999.
LA Times
So, essentially, California imports the wealthy b/c only they can afford to live there. And they export their poor and middle class to more affordable states.
Ultimately, this economic migration is fine, imo. The "new rich" will eventually create companies to replace those migrating out to more business friendly environments. But there is some irony (if that's the appropriate word) to the state that screams the loudest about fixing social inequities creating a living environment that prevents the poor and middle class from living there.

Good thing my post had nothing to do with that. Facts are facts. In 17, 10k more moved to Texas versus the other way.
And the census shows them losing poors.

McKesson announced they were leaving last year. They are a Fortune 10 company. Chevron will leave before long for Texas too.

Sweet. Wish it had something to do with the post I responded to or the facts I presented.
But, you already knew this.

It was relevant to the above if you're not being obtuse about it. Particularly with regard to businesses.
You're not wrong, just not telling the whole story.

I’m not telling any story. I’m pointing out something that is non factual.
And you’re not telling the entire story either.
