The city will fight this but will lose out to potential economic boom downtown. So expect the cops to be on edge because of layoffs and expect them to pick up hard on MIP and underage drinking at parties around LSU. You see this in areas with adequate public transportation.

Taxis are useful in big, densely populated cities. You walk outside and boom, get a taxi. For places like BR or lafayette that are smaller and spread out, uber seems more convenient.
I live in midtown Houston, and Uber + Lyft are still much more useful.

So is this the best troll in years here or is this fricker for real? I haven't read the five hundred opinions.

Ten percent of a city Seattle's size is probably a large figure. But Baton Rouge probably gives way more DUIs and ten percent is probably more than a few city employees salaries. Each DUI is around $15,000- $20,000

He's real. He's a cab driver. I think he may be TigerWise's alter.

I read through alot of it and he is for real. He says he drives for yellow cab but I am starting to think he is the dispatch or company manager and not a driver, or he is the one good yellow cab driver in the whole city of br.

I can't wait for people that doubt Uber and Lyft to see what happens in 2 months. It will explode in BR. The city has a serious void in public transportation and this will help fill it somewhat.
If it works in cities with good cab systems, imagine what it will do in a city that has a terrible one. Couple that with the absurd amount of DUI's given there, the spread out nature of the city, and the rampant drinking South Louisianians partake in. Will be great.

anybody who has had access to it knows how much of a game changer it will be for Baton Rouge.
Hell, it is a game changer for big cities. We're rocking 1 car right now in Houston thanks to Uber

Yeah, I was wondering why he threw you in there.

Because he always likes to argue against the future success of Uber in Baton Rouge

dumb, IMO
you think they are calling their insurance companies to pay higher premiums?
Kind of goes against why anyone would choose to drive a cab...takes away from the extra money they are trying to earn.

I thought it was b/c of his insurance comment (which I agree with).
Uber is gonna win, it's a fact of life.

No, they aren't, which is a huge mistake, IMO.
I think we agree about this point.

I hope it does great. I have never said I hoped it wouldn't be a success.
