When traveling with my parents, we've routinely taken 1 van to/from the airport. That's 6 people...

So you're saying that yellow cab breaks the law. We had more than 4 every weekend

Aster st. Area about $8.00.

Dude, it cost over$30 every time

Please call this in and let them know all the info you can. From aster and iowa st. it is 2.1 miles to tigerland. $4.00 to start $2.00 a mile so that is 4 + 4 = 8. Also was you in yellow cab or another service. I have heard many of the horror stories of the independents, they love to flat rate. Bayou and Pha taxi are the only ones i know with vans

This isn't working out too well for you Dick. It's probably because people here have seen what Yellow Cab brings, and it's dog shite.

There's too many variables to that to make driving for Uber in BR a profitable venture. If someone really wanted to in this area they should move to New Orleans. That's a much better market.

So you are shocked that so many people support a product that improves their lives?

Fastest way to cure a problem, like the credit card one that has been discussed is competition. Fastest way to drive down prices, fastest way to get better service. Evolve or die yellow cab, evolve or die.

We don't GAF.

It's one of many reasons why we will all use Uber and you can keep picking up lowlifes and under-reporting your income.

Winning!

I'm sure the taxi cab board are cleaning out their piggy banks to pay off who ever they need to so they can rid them selves of direct competition

Tell them why cabbies don't like taking CC...isn't it because they can only cash them in once a month w/o having to pay a percentage to YC.

I don't think you've done yourself many favors in this thread. The driver I know told me how it all works and I changed from hating our cabbies to feeling bad for them...the hate should be directed more at the company instead of the drivers.

All G/L and Workmen's Comp rates are figured on total revenue. Of course, so is the driver's and owner's actual income tax.

None of these numbnuts want to take CC's. Too easily tracked.

The downside to this ingenious plan is that criminals know the drivers deal in cash. Risk/reward.

Quick ? did you know that UBER has been kicked from 7 major markets with 16 more soon to follow. One of those being it's home city San Francisco.

So much fail here...
Do you know what Uber is valued at right now?

Please show me where San Fran (which is in Ca where they passed legislation making uber legal) is about to shut it down.

For both reasons. UBER has no # to call and talk with customer service. They have 1000+ unresolved issues of customer complaints. The other is not following min requriements to operate in the city they are trying to provide services.

I bet the number of Über complaints pales in comparison to cab complaints.

FWIW the only time the only bad Über driver I have ever had took a route that he assured me would be quicker. I told him I didn't care and wanted to take my preferred route, he continued to argue so I gave in. In the end it wasn't quicker (it was much longer) so I gave him a 1* (only time I've ever done that). The next day Über refunded me the $35 ride and gave me a $25 credit.

I've had more problems with cabs in the one year I used them before Über came about than the 3 years I've used Über.

Sounds like you should quit your job and work for Über to me

Another good thing about Uber is since you can rate the drivers they have to provide good service. I have been kicked out of at least 50 cabs but only kicked out of one Uber, the black driver didn't like that my friend kept screaming out the n-word so after like 5 minutes he just pulled over and said "OUT"!!!!!

Cpt's Cliffs:

YC drive claims Uber is illegal and tries to rob you by being more expensive.

That is proven false, repeatedly.

YC driver then claims the reason customer service sucks, cabs suck, and it costs more is because of YOU. Yes, you the consumer, that they rely on for their industry are to blame according to this YC driver.

He then says that the CC machines do infact work, and the drivers are just crooks.

Now he is back to claiming thats its your fault when you call YC they say 15 minutes, then dont show.
