ETA: I re-read the articles and realized I flipped the companies and locations.

Made =/= Assembled. The majority of the electric components and batteries are all manufactured at Tesla's facilities in Asia. They are then assembled with the pieces made in America to make it "All-American". Most estimates based on what can be traced is that more than 95% of parts used to make the Tesla Models are manufactured outside of the US.

Have a link for that?

Tesla routinely tops the american made indexes and most of the BESS units are made at Giga1 in Sparks, NV.

Yes, I'm sure you'll never connect the dots when they have more rolling blackouts.

If they already have rolling blackouts and they continue to have rolling blackouts that means nothing has changed though

So you wouldn't be proving anything

You will never connect the dots when they have fewer rolling blackouts due to so much grid storage.

Having rolling blackouts at all is a failure, moron.

Correct. Nothing changing is failure.

Incorrect. California needs to improve this situation. Being the same isn't improvement.

Gonna be hard to get the luddites to understand demand response or VPP.

Yeah, apparently my reading comprehension is fricked, or at least my memory of them. The articles were about Tesla China now making over 95% of the parts for the cars sold there and in other markets and moving away from importing US parts.

Nah I just think it's funny. Credit Jmarto with it's application to the anti-EV cult. It's quite appropriate though.

The statewide average is $5 and I have been paying in the low to mid $4s for at least a year, if not longer. In certain parts of the city or in the middle of nowhere, maybe you will pay $6.

The simple point is that your typical CA resident isn't paying $6+ dollars/gal for gas.

Fully EV cars are worse for the environment over their lifetime than old-fashioned ICEs.

I'm always in Orange County when I'm there. It wasn't under $6 anywhere.

But it's not necessarily a failure due to more people driving EVs

Yeah that would make sense

That doesn't apply to the ones being sold here though

Anti-EV cult? Nah, just anti-stupid. Adding a bunch of electric vehicles to a state that already can't keep the lights on is stupid.
