I agree with you and while I don't feel like being on the Arkansas who's who list, it absolutely does makes you wonder about Slick Willy and Cackle's foundation for starters. They were all over Theranos like flies on doo doo.

It’s simply impossible to perform 100s of tests on a single droplet of blood. That was her whole premise and while conceptually it’s appealing it’s just not possible.

From what I can understand, it takes much more blood than a small vial to run numerous tests.
Hell, when I was trying to be a kidney donor for my brother, they took 19 vials of blood from me at one time to run numerous tests. There’s just no way to run numerous tests with only one small vial of blood right now.

Yes, venal samples are necessary as opposed to capillary samples. She might as well have patented a Star Trek medical tricorder.

One of the biggest issues is volume. You can run labs off of capillary samples (some), although accuracy is “iffy” at times.
This blood isn’t just put in a machine and “computer magic” happens.
For certain tests, the blood is mixed with a chemical, others the blood is heated, maybe it’s irradiated, etc.
You cannot perform multiple tests on the same blood sample since one test may require its destruction.
Until we have nanotechnology or Star Trek scanners, Theranos is a pipe dream of epic proportions.
That was apparent in Holmes’ complete inability to understand the topic since she had zero medical/chemistry/biology knowledge.
