I would love 7 weeks off. Just putting that out there. I would miss out on so much though. I was off this weekend and it took me 3 hours to read all the morning reports and emails to see what happened

Probably is more an attribute of Facebook people than teachers. Most people I hear around the office that are on fb are whiners that want to tell you all of their problems and complaints. Teachers that I know work in the summer and look forward to the start of school.

Why is it pathetic? It's not like the things teachers have to endure are any big secret. Hell, they make you do a trial run when you student teach, so you have hands on experience with what you are going to have to deal with. Yet still people whine, complain, and bitch about it.

Teachers are paid a salary so they really do get paid. Some school systems offer an option to have that salary paid in ten months or in twelve.
