Exactly, this is something the NFL should have had a rule about already. The NBA requires players to stand for the national anthem, but since the NFL didn't have a rule or didn't enforce one if they did, then people have the right to do it.
Before Donald Trump was at his rally calling players son of a bitches, it was not really even an issue anymore. If I recall the week before he said that, there were 2 or 3 people who protested..But he knew what he was doing.
He was/is pissed at the NFL because in 2015, the owners voted to not allow him to buy the Buffalo Bills (because of his mismanaging of the USFL team he once owned and trying to work his way into being commissioner). So when he said what he did, players fell right into his trap. He knew that people would be pissed about it and tweeted about protesting the nfl by not watching it, blah blah.
Either way, I just want to watch football. If the media would just ignore it, it wouldn't even be a thing..
