Your OPs are way too long.
Just finished the newest malcom x biography. Enjoyed his story more than MLks.
Just started the power of now by Eckhart tolle (meditation), still reading john D's auto, a beginner philosopy book, and the american sniper book.
Yes, I read boring shite.

Square books and off square book in Oxford are that town's only redeeming qualities

I'll snag it for you when I'm near my kindle. The auto that people normally refer to when talking about Malcolm came out after his death . The issue with that one is that it was co-written by him when he was still praising Elijah Muhammad. And much of his youth is exaggerated so he could connect with a wider portion of the black lower class.

Currently reading "The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich" (and will be for the foreseeable future). Why? No particular reason. I've had the book forever and never read it. I can't stand not to have a book when I'm traveling and needed something for my Xmas vacay. So I grabbed it off the shelf and waded in. It's as thick as my arm so it'll take a while to get through. I know a fair amount about WWII itself but never really learned much about how Hitler came to power. So this is filling a historical hole for me.
My favorite fiction author is Neal Stephenson. I've read all of his books at least once. Some I've read a few times. I don't know what it is about him that appeals to me. I guess it's his dry sense of humor and the way he can describe things so that you can really picture it.

The Autobiography of Malcolm X as told by Alex Haley?

Currently reading Gods and General. It's good but not as good as Killer Angels.

Orientalism by Edward Said...not an easy read. Almost done though. Pretty interesting in parts, but more academic than I care for. I also don't necessarily agree with a lot of it.

I have a nice bound Complete Works of EAP.
I read a different one every few months.

Love the Doris Lessing quote, Kafka.
it took me a long time to become okay with this. friend would recommend a book that was life changing for them, and it wouldnt interest me in the least. I would suffer through it and glean a few things but over all it would skew my opinion of the author etc.
I have only become more comfortable in the last year or so at my decision to only read books that really spark an interest.

Sure haven't. May try that after The Last Full Measure. I read Killer Angels because of the recommendations from this board.

Killer angels was an excellent read. Haven't read it in years though.
