What are you getting your old man this year? As my dad(& FIL) get older, they no longer have kids to support and they have tons of free time & extra money to just go buy all the stuff they want already.
There's no golf gadget or cooking accessory they don't already own or have tried...

Got my FiL the wink home automation starter kit so now I just buy him home automation doodads every holiday and he loves it. We sometimes install them together.

I have a bug a salt.
It sucks that it doesn't faze horseflies but it's lethal against regular house flies.
I hit my wife and her wine with it the other day though chasing a fly and she was not amused.

If your dad is like me, he really doesn't want to see his kids buying him gifts. He just wants a little time with you at Christmas. If you really want to buy him something, just take him out to lunch.
