Probably should take a page out of China’s development book
china had 500 miles of road per million people. We have 13,000 miles per million.

One would think that with every project in La having dozens of studies and re-studies over decades before acting, this type of thing wouldn't happen.

Wait you actually wanted to gain valuable knowledge that could be actioned upon in an intelligent and cost efficient manner?

My bad.

So the approaches will be like 90 percent of the other bridges in Louisiana. I am more surprised when I don't get thrown against the seat belts when approaching a bridge.

Sad part is the private company that owns the bridge will just run the tolls another 20 years to recoup fines and additional cost associated with the toll bridge.

Sidenote: the thing is fugly. Looks like the orange hot wheel tracks kids have.

The bridge isn’t sinking, it’s just the joy from the democrats lifting everything else up.

On rock bed, sure. Around here, nope. They incorporate hinges where the two meet to account for differential settlement.

Honestly, unless the geotech engineer's recommendations were ignored they are usually at fault for bad soil information. Does anyone know or feel like tracking down what firm it was?

Louisiana has the most incompetent government and the most incompetent businesses. No one can do anything right.

So frustrating

The DOTD does all of the preliminary field studies, draws up the plans, forces the suppliers to make all their products to the DOTD’s specs, forces and inspects that the GC build the project exactly to the State’s specs and then when something goes awry blames and back-charges the GC.

For this type of project you are incorrect!
