Technocrats live in a fairy tale world and hate the peons. Welcome to serfdom, again.

Govt and Corporations welded together, unelected experts deciding policy, and you'll have no rights.

Its all for "the good of society."

For now. Within 5 years, most EV battery internals will be made mostly of carbon and aluminum, materials that are quite easily recycled.

ANNNND this is why the richest people on the planet think we need to purge two-thirds of the global population. Our best ideas for energy beyond oil are pipe dreams and unsustainable back end messes.

Are you implying the batteries only last 5 years?

The funny thing about that is he's come into these threads and said the same before. He's also been corrected over and over and over.

The idea behind being willfully stupid and playing dumb and not learning from your mistakes and doing so in a public manner for others to see is...well it's a decision to make.

Perhaps the cost of recycling the batteries should be added into the cost of the EV ?

The cost of a product is pretty simple economics, supply/demand and what not.

Toyota is partnering with Redwood Materials, a battery recycling company helmed by Tesla co-founder JB Straubel, to collect and recycle vehicle batteries. The plan is to take old, worn-out batteries and either refurbish them or break them down so their materials can be used to create new batteries.

Toyota and Redwood are focusing on “the first wave of battery-electric vehicles,” which are over 20 years old and nearing their end of life. Mostly, that means first-generation Toyota Priuses in California.

I mean, it makes sense. If you pay for the disposal when you buy the battery, then the money is collected and ready for when the battery reaches end life. Too bad corrupt politicians would find a way to frick that up and misappropriate the money or corrupt it to get kickbacks.
