has anyone been to one of these in recent years and could you tell me how cool Natchez is of a town to spend the weekend? Got reservations at Dunleith Plantation.

I've been lots of times and weather permitting, enjoy them immensely. Natchez is a cool little weekend getaway and Dunleith is cool.
Wh are the festival Bands?

We have gone 4 times and only saw one balloon go up due to the weather each trip. The balloons will inflate and stay tied down if it's too windy, etc. Have always had a blast. We stay in town at a bead breakfast so we can walk around town during our stay. We had a room booked this year but cancelled because we opted for the LSU game in Lambeau. We'd hit up Fat Mama's on Friday night, Bowie's tavern after and on Saturday. Attend the festival, drink a bunch and grab food in town. It's a great little town with a lot of history. There's a place down by the river that has good burgers, maybe called the Magnolia??

I glanced over them and didn't recognize any of the bands/people performing. Last time I went Cowboy Mouth headlined.

Dunleith is badass. You'll like bowies, it's near the festival grounds and is also owned by dunleith...try the castle restaurant and have a drink in the basement bar before your meal. It's on the main grounds of dunleith. Fat mamas is overrated, hit up the donut shop for the best donuts you'll ever have. You'll see it on the corner when you turn down homochitto street to get to dunleith.

The revivalist
Check em out!
Been following them for about 6 years now. Great Nola band. They have the number one song in billboard alternative charts right now.

The Balloon Races are a lot of fun. You may or may not see too many balloons in the air. It depends on the weather. Natchez is a great place to visit though. The under the hill area, Bowie's, and the Camp are all cool places. Dunlieth and a lot of the other antebellum homes in Natchez are really nice. The festival is a little pricy, but the music is usually pretty good

This is a fact. My family used to cut soybeans for some big farms in Natchez and hit that place up every morning when I was a kid. My dad has always said they're the best in the world because they're just as good as an afternoon snack as they are for breakfast.... I'm sure it was a factor for his and my grandfather's diabetes
