Yes, but that’s not readily apparent to majority of Americans who are economically illiterate. (They may be smart in other fields, but they don’t get this.)

Also, even among those that are economically literate, as someone else pointed out earlier in the thread, baser instincts among people prefer happiness now and moving pain on down the line over experiencing pain now for the chance of happiness in the future. The former gets us spiraling inflation and the latter gets us out of an inflation spiral.

^ things like this are why I adamantly believe it is a terrible idea to have the voting franchise requirement bar be:

1. 18 years or older
2. A pulse

You cannot have a functioning democratic constitutional republic with an electorate that is as misinformed and ignorant as what we are today.

Of course they do, they don’t care about rising interest rates, or a recession, they just want that free money.

We should definitely print more money to combat inflation. That always works.

There is a significant percentage of people who have been conned into believing that we really aren’t experiencing inflation and that the rise in prices is just the result of corporate price gouging.
