How quick does meningitis cause death? She didn't go see a doctor?

Should I wait around for the apologies from the assholes on here who suggested that she died of a drug overdose? Or have they already run for the hills.

Was it your sister? Did you have a bet on it?

No dude....neither of those are true. But I AM a decent human being who doesn't like to drag someone's name through the mud with zero regard or respect like some of the keyboard warriors are prone to do on here. If you can't understand this, then the problem is yours, not mine.

Viral is contagious, but there'd have to be some pretty intimate fluid exchanges at play for transmission, normally- needles, anal penetration or fecal ingestion.

The article in The Advocate says she had been feeling bad for about 2 days. Reportedly had a bellyache

The article also states that VIRAL Meningitis can be contracted from West Nile and the common Flu

Flu has been rampant throughout LA this year. I think the CDC announced we had the highest number of cases in the US

Okay is the meningitis vaccine not required anymore? I remember before starting LSU I had to get this specific vaccine and I didn't even stay in the dorms.

Viral meningitis is not contagious - and usually not deadly.
Bacterial meningitis is much more severe - and the one caused by neisseria is the contagious one.

Lot of dumbasses in here

Viral meningitis is common. Lots of viruses cause it. Very rare for a young healthy person to die from it unless there is an underlying issue.

Bacterial meningitis is almost always neisseria which anybody in a dorm would be required to have vaccine for.

Only people with AIDS or other severe immune issues get fungal meningitis.

The vaccine addressed BACTERIAL not VIRAL Meningitis

And YES, LA law requires all students to be vaccinated by/at the age of 16
