I take it you've never met enough wooks.

I don't have the first clue what you're talking about, man.

I've only heard of female Marines called wooks.

Custies. Like, really nasty hippies. They definitely raise their kids naked. Now, I like a lot of them, but some of the granola shite is just too much for me. Watching naked kids run around a Shakedown Street while I'm hitting a nitrous balloon is not a fun experience.

You're in WA, right? You can find these folks easily.

I've lived alone for about 7 years now. I used to hate it and be lonely all the time, but now I'm pretty accustomed to it. I'm used to everything in my house being exclusively private to me except for visitors, so it would be a bit weird to share all of that space with someone else all the time. But ultimately I want to have a partner who lives with me.

With that said, do you think that the longer you live alone, it will be that much more difficult or unpleasant to adjust to living with someone? Do you desire it less now?

Nah. First year was probably the best of my life, but 2 years into it I'm getting pretty tired of it.

i love it. no one calling me and bothering me. no one coming over and hanging out. no one seeing what i'm up to on the weekends or just checking in to see how i've been. no texts from anyone or facebook messages from family. just completely alone, with no one there, forever.

I am an extrovert by nature. But the older I get, the more introverted I become. Sometimes you just get tired of putting up with people's shite.

Mr. CT has always traveled for work (20 years), and now that the oilfield collapsed, he has been home for two years. I used to want him home all the time. Now after 2 years I wish he'd get the frick out. I love living alone.

Logistically, it has made my visits more difficult.

Hmm... it's really hard to say. I think it depends on relationship compatibility. I wouldn't want to be in a relationship where I wouldn't eventually live with the person. I don't think I desire living with someone less.... it's more that I am adjusted to living alone and don't feel lonely very much anymore. Not feeling like I need someone else allows me to be more picky with dating too I suppose.

I enjoy my ability to work on personal projects and not have someone around all the time. I can work on something until I'm tired and go to sleep with all my tools laying out and come back to it when I feel like it as long as I don't have visitors. I don't have to worry about anything being disturbed. If I want to stay up all night blasting music I can do so without worrying. Or I could go to sleep in the middle of the day and not have to worry about other people waking me or imposing on other people to be quiet for me.

There really are a lot of perks to living alone. But there are plenty of joys I know I'm missing out on too.

I should also say that I don't have any pets either... I do plan on getting a dog at some point though.

I didn't read the other thread, probably won't read this one, but can I assume both are/will be people posting a variation of "whatever I do is correct, and if you do something else you're weird and probably a loser?"

Pretty close. That and everyone who has a partner is a mindless drone now.
