Social media and online dating has inflated the egos of women, and some men, past their actual irl value. Angle shots and photoshop make liars of many, and those that may have a stellar page may be boring and unfulfilling in real life.
Makes the whole thing a crap shoot.
Best advice, actually go out and meet people, and have a winning personality. Be interesting and have fun hobbies. Be funny and charming.
All else will fall into play.

I actually agree with you for once
The other problem is most of the women on dating apps are whackos and I usually find out on the first date
I probably average 1.5 dates a week for the last few years so I have a lot of stories
