This experiment has been conducted many times since and the expert says that it’s almost a 100% guarantee that everyone will answer A. He even said, I know people are listening to this podcast saying they wouldn’t answer A. But he said I promise. They will answer option A every time.

No, they will not answer A 100% of the time. I promise you.

YouTube is amazing. I mostly watch videos about movies and guns and history, but YouTube loves pushing politics. I watch one conservative leaning political video and suddenly I’m flooded with scores of other conservative video suggestions. Before I know it, I’m seeing endless shorts of liberal being owned and if I didn’t know better I’d assume liberals don’t even have a YouTube presence at all.

You’re right. I actually googled it. It’s 75%.
I rewatched the Joe Rogan clip and the guy did say it was 100% on the podcast.

Here’s a link to the podcast. He discusses it about the 19 minute mark

My belief - and it may have been mentioned already, i havent read all 4 pages- is that the real problem isnt right vs left as much as it is Billionaires vs the bottom 99.7% of Americans (or vs the world’s population).. they want us all at each other’s throats while they rob us blind and horde the wealth.. Look at folks who complain about the ‘welfare queen in line at Walmart w/the brand new iPhone 17’ while we all know (or should know) that the real problem is corporate welfare (subsidies & bailouts) which takes WAY more resources and pieces of the economic pie than personal welfare recipients.. it’s just one example, but we all need to resist falling for the bait .

75% still a whole lot of groupthink. Embarrassing for humanity.

You’ve never been sent a private message by the mods on the PT board? I certainly have. I was basically told to tone it down.

Lolz — what the frick do you have to post here to get a finger wag from the mods? I lob some pretty outrageous stuff, insult lots of different groups, and in over a decade, I don’t think I’ve ever been DM’d.

Reality is reality - there is no splitting of it.

Perhaps people’s perceptions of reality, but it is NOWHERE near 50/50 - more like 80/20 Conservative/ Marxist (aka Communist) when it comes down to the basic/.bedrock fundamentals.

IQ is on a down trend and - more importantly - belief in God, and adherence to his commandments.

I don’t even remember. I’ve been banned a couple of times over the years. One time I definitely deserved it. The other I wasn’t really sure why. Then I realized I specifically named two posters and called them crazy for believing in the Sydney Powell Kracken conspiracy. I think it would’ve been fine other than they are PT regulars and probably RA’d the post.

Wait, you mentioned their real names or just called out their handles?

Lol. I don’t think the correlation between the true belief in a god and IQ is quite what you think it is.

Just their handles. One is a Dr and the other is a lawyer, still regular posters over there. But they totally were believing there was a CIA gun fight in Germany over voting machines (or some crazy shite like that) the night of the 2020 election. I called them both nuts and woke up to my account banned the next morning. So I assume it was calling them out by name. Still not 100% sure. It was part of the notorious 2020 Election Board that is now deleted.

I don't necessarily disagree, but go browse through reddit and it's just as disheartening

We just had a 20 page thread on the worst posters of TD. I doubt it was simply that.

Our society is easily bored and as the internet has increased our access to information, our tribalism has kicked into overdrive. The ability to virtually congregate allows for virtual echo chambers where people can live within the strongest tribal dogma they feel comfortable with. That ability strengthens their resolve as it shields them from critiques which might make them otherwise question their stances.

It's like having an old friend who is otherwise congenial and a lot of fun, but when he gets talking about his favorite team and/or their rival he becomes the most devout of acolytes preaching about how his team represents all that is good and holy while the rival represents all that is evil. Get a few beers in him and he may even fight you over your accidental mispronunciation of his favorite player's name.

Our media has followed this path by increasing its "yellow journalism" in both blatant and subtle ways and that feeds the problem. Until enough people decide they are tired enough of powering the rage machine to stop powering it, it's going to continue.

I agree with you. And the frustrating point is that there is really only one truth. The lie is what will cause the next civil war. Relatively, Trump is making tremendous progress on draining the swamp (but it still won’t be enough). Covid is either derived from a bat in Wuhan or escaped from a virology lab in Wuhan. it’s not a maybe thing. It either happened one way or the other. The vaccines either stopped transmission or they didn’t. They didn’t but a gigantic portion of our society still to this day believes it does. There is a definitive answer. WMD was either a fabricated lie that was a necessary means to and end or it wasn’t. BLM was founded and perpetuated on a giant lie. There is no other way to interpret in actuality, but a GIANT portion of the country believes the lie and has acted accordingly. It’s not just MY reality. There is reality and there is perception, and we should all always be seeking the truth.

16 downvotes.

Which of those is not true?

The internet has commoditized divisiveness. They make more money when we are tribal and hate each other.

What the internet has done is take traditionally agreed societal realities and created an alternative universe that some people gravitate towards. The side that is usually normal has to overcorrect due to the absurdity of the other.

Yup, the OT is filled with irrationality, however, and can never admit to that.

There is only one truth.

Biden was either senile from the beginning or he wasn’t. (He obviously was)

2020 was a stolen election or it wasn’t. There is no maybe or perhaps.

To the spirit of the thread, two people can obviously have vastly different viewpoints on both of those topics, but only one person is right. They can’t both be right.

No, SHE is the problem. And her 7 kids that she doesn’t give a frick about that have no fathers.

Laziness and entitlement being coupled with massive propaganda psyops are a bigger problem. There will always be billionaires, and we should want billionaires as we should appreciate Capitalism.
