Jeeze. That's a no across the board. Very rare find.

Let me take you back to 2006. Not that far ago, but enough distance to where I can talk about it with some perspective. I was a few years past graduation, and had bought season tickets to Troy football for the first time. The details are a little blurry at this point, and I can't remember if having Alabama State on the schedule was on purpose or if we had to fill an empty slot late. I know the teams played each other during the late 90s and up until 2000, but the series stopped for a few years after that. Back to 2006, it was Labor Day weekend, and the first time Troy had a home game to start the season in a while. This was right after the transition from D1-AA to D-1A, and the beginning of most seasons saw Troy taking bodybag games to fund the team the rest of the year.
We drove down from Birmingham that morning, hung out and tailgated with old friends for a while, and then started to make our leisurely walk to the stadium prior to kickoff. But something felt different. There was a sea of humanity previously unseen on this sleepy little campus. It was BET come to life. There was chanting. There was dancing. Some cheers, and other vivacious activity happening, all outside the main entrance to Veterans Memorial Stadium.
What happened over the next 90 minutes or so was highly predictable. A raucous band played from their visitors section stands. The difference in talent on the field quickly meant the Trojans were up mightily. The game would end 38-0 Trojans. But halftime, oh halftime was a different story altogether. We had walked down to sit with someone, and happened to be on the lower level of the stadium instead of in our usual upper deck seats. When a school brings their marching band to Troy, they will usually play an abbreviated halftime show before the Sound of the South plays. This was the infancy of the now famous (or infamous, depending on your views) Honey Bees dance team. There were things done to the field turf at the stadium that would get an NC-17 rating if it were in a movie. Gyrating, dropping it like it's hot, and just straight up humping the 35 yard line. People were shielding the eyes of young children. Some men busted out their binoculars for a closer look. Some things just can't be unseen. It took 11 years before ASU was welcomed back in 2017. I didn't go to that game, but it was because some things should only be witnessed once.

I enjoy those SWAC games. Don't think we've ever played one on the road, but watching the Southern band and the USM band play together was really, really special.
I'll tell y'all from Troy something else: the first thing I thought of when I opened this thread was your 2019 flag team. Not quite AL State, but everyone on it seemed to be either a 90-pound dude or a 280-pound chick and it definitely provoked some commentary in my section.
Fun little game overall, though.

I just knew these chicks knew how to get their freak on.
The heart wants what the heart wants. Right now after 6 weeks in quarantine it wants a nasty freak Honeybee to treat me like the 35 yard line in my well appointed condo for liberation weekend.
