So dumb. Imagine what half of your retarded 1,500 a month payment could be earning for you.

He thinks other people are entitled to your money, plain and simple. It’s common these days.

Chances he is older than 28 or has children he’s responsible for is pretty slim

A guy ran a red light and totalled my wife's paid off Highlander in June 2022. I was pissed on multiple fronts as it was paid off, the car market was shite, and it was my wife's vehicle. I tried to steer her to a used Highlander Hybrid that was a similar year and style with about the same miles to save money. That was a non starter as we ended up getting a new Highlander which was almost impossible to find at the time and definitely overpaid. Fortunately we had the money from the other one to defray costs and I got a 2.25% interest rate from my credit union for 4 yrs. It still hurts, but at least made her a little less mad.

We have to buy a car for when my middle child starts driving in about 3 yrs. Hopefully things come down a little.

You have to live a little. Enjoy some things while you can because you can't take it with you.

I tell you, I have felt crazy at times.

I pretty much MinMax every aspect of my life(as far as purchases go). If it’s something essential I will buy the best I possibly can(not what’s trendy for no reason “best”). If something is not essential, which I don’t think a vehicle is, I will painstakingly figure out how to maximize usage for the cheapest price.

I don’t get people constantly buying vehicles around $45,000 that they probably shouldn’t. Can’t you just rough it for 7 years, save that money, and then go buy a really nice vehicle? What’s the point of being in average car purgatory?

And this is what really weighs on me and makes me feel like I’m doing it wrong at times.

She’s rolled over negative equity so many times her payment has skyrocketed. I’ve sat her down and gotten seriois with her about it but it’s pointless. She’s a great girl but I’m not kidding, the dumbest human I’ve ever met.

It was just a normal Camry 5 years ago. I think like $25k. Had a trade in and some down payment and like a 1.9% interest rate.

Good luck getting a deal like that now. I was looking for something new and bigger to trade in our '14 CRV for but all the prices for anything we liked were nuts and everyone was doing their damnedest to force me into a lease instead of buying it. Decided to say frick and keep the Honda since it only has 60k miles on it.
