What does it matter? It may not show that it is funded by tax dollars outside the city limits but isn't that just cherry picking one area that isn't shown to be funded by residents outside the city limits while there are many other areas that are?

We know, based on BR's own audit, that over $50 million in tax revenue from outside BR is moved into BR's general fund annually. Given that it was BR's audit; I would be shocked if that number isn't higher.

Exactly! And if anything is funded by the general fund it takes the burden off areas that are shown not to be funded by the general fund...smoke and mirrors since indirectly everything is reaping the benefits of that 50+ million.

This isn't a neighborhood; it's an area completely separate from the City of BR.
I'm not completely for St. G because the organizers aren't being honest about the cost. But low-IQ, emotional bullshite statements like yours aren't doing the City any favors.

I get it... Those evil hateful bastards that love their kids and are trying to create change using democracy are so awful.
They should just shut up and not try to petition their government as outlined by the state constitution to address failings in their community.
They should be forced to take it a step further... every affluent person in the unincorporated area should adopt a poor family in nbr and send them like $1K a month.

Yeah, so? Don't persons who live outside the city limits go into the city and therefore rely upon city services, including police and fire protection services and streets?
This whole 'us' versus 'them' meme based on where we lay our heads at night in a community that is so inter-dependent as EBR is nonsensical.
Question for the SG supporters: who is the largest property tax payer in EBR? (Hint: That taxpayer's property has an assessed value equal to almost as much as the next 9 highest property taxpayers COMBINED.)

So why doesn't $50 million of tax revenue from BR City get allocated to the unincorporated area? Don't BR citizens go to the Mall, Perkins Rowe, and Parade Grounds? Hell, under this line of thinking, BR should be handing tax revenue to New Orleans.

Your argument would be more valid if there was parish wide fire and police service.
